My new studio space at Burns Visual Arts Society has opened up new opportunities for creativity. The bigger space with its large floor surface gives me lots of room for pouring inks, spraying water and working on many canvasses at once. Much of my latest works are mixed media creations combining inks, acrylics, chalk pastels, crayons, watercolour and charcoal. I am drawn to trees that expose their life story to me. Living amongst the natural habitat of Fish Creek in south Calgary constantly inspires new narratives. My more recent muse is the Crowsnest in Alberta and when I’m out skiing or hiking, I’m forever searching for new inspiration.

This small sampling of my work reflects some of the varied subject matter in all media that I work in: oil, watercolour, acrylic and mixed media. These paintings evolved from a combination of photographs, on location or plein air sketches, my sojourns into the outdoors, listening to music, and other artists whose work
influences me.
